Terms and Conditions

Group Classes:

• The London Longsword Academy Ltd. teaches Historical Martial Arts in group classes to individuals (students) in-person and online.
• Students must purchase, book and cancel their group class/es via the London Longsword Academy class booking system online. 
• Payments can be made over Visa or Master Credit and Debit Cards. 
• Classes are available to purchase either as a single class payment, a 4-class package, a 1-month-prepayment package, or a membership with recurring monthly payment over 6 or 12 months. 
• Classes can be booked four weeks in advance of the particular class. Class booking closes 15 minutes before the start time of the class (UK time). Classes can be booked until reaching the maximum booking capacity as shown when selecting a class. Places are available on a first come, first served basis.
• Students can cancel their booked class via the London Longsword Academy class booking system. If a student is unable to attend a booked class, we request the student to cancel their booking and attendance. The following cancellation policies apply:
  • Students can cancel any booked class up to 24 hours before the start of the class and are then able to rebook any other class within their purchase option allowance and expiry date. 
  • Students can also cancel any booked class less than 24h before class and up to the starting time of the class. The class will be marked as redeemed and no rebooking is possible. 
  • Students who do not attend or cancel a booked class will be marked as a ‘no show’ and no rebooking is possible. The London Longsword Academy will monitor no-show attendance and reserves the right to contact students with multiple no-shows. Further no-shows may result in restrictions on purchasing future class passes or memberships. 
  • Emergencies and other extenuating circumstances may be taken into account, with respective proof provided.
  • If for any reason the London Longsword Academy needs to cancel a class, students will be notified and will be able to rebook another class.
• Students that are attending a class without an active booking through the LLA booking system are considered walk-ins and are required to pay the specific walk-in rate for the class at the door. A space in class and a training weapon for walk-ins is subject to availability.
• We run all classes continously throughout the year with the following exceptions: No group classes on Bank Holidays and reduced class schedule over the end of year festive season.

• Memberships: Our group class membership is available for a term of 6 or 12 months and is paid over a monthly recurring payment collected on the first of each month. Memberships start at the 1st of each calendar month and you must have read and agreed to these general terms and conditions before purchasing a membership.
• If you pay your membership fees monthly by recurring payments, your membership ends automatically at the end of your chosen term. 
• If you are paying by recurring payments and your membership fees are not being paid (e.g., failing to update your card details after expiry…), you must ensure that any outstanding charges are paid within 30 days. Failing which, we may charge reasonable administration fees including any unpaid charges, and/or suspend or cancel your membership. 
• You may request to cancel your 6- or 12-month membership before the end of your chosen term through written notice to info@londonlongsword.com and by providing a minimum of 21 days written notice prior to your next recurring payment date. The following conditions apply: 
  • An early cancellation fee will be charged, which is calculated based on the price difference per month, between the 1-month prepayment price (or if applicable, 6-month membership price) and the price of the initially purchased membership, for the same number of classes per week and for the duration of your current membership at the point of cancellation.
    For example, a student requests to cancel after 3 months of a contractual 12 month, 1 class per week membership. The price of a 1-month prepayment for 1 class per week is £72. The price of a 12 month, 1 class per week membership is £60 per month. The difference between the two purchase options is £12 per month, therefore the student will be charged an early cancellation fee of 3 x £12 for a total of £36.
  • We will send you confirmation by email once we have processed your cancellation. 
• You may cancel your membership if your circumstances change to such an extent that it is not possible for you to continue to use your membership: e.g., medical reasons, redundancy, home relocation outside of reasonable accessible distance to class. To cancel your membership for any of these reasons, you will need to give us written notice and provide adequate proof of the change in your circumstances. During the membership term, you must continue to pay your membership fees until adequate proof (e.g., medical certificate) is provided. Upon reception and approval of that proof via email, your membership will then be cancelled prior to your next monthly recurring payment.
• We reserve the right to cancel your membership without further notice, if:
  • You have made a serious breach of club rules and policies or any terms of this contract
  • You do not pay any fees or charges within 30 days of the date it was due
  • Your class/es is permanently cancelled
  • The business or membership model ceases to exist or any other economic and business decision.

Gift Cards: Gift cards are available for purchase and can be used for any LLA group class or private lesson purchase option available in our Wellness Living booking system by the gift card recipient. If the cost of the chosen purchase option is lower than the total value of the gift card, the remaining amount can be used on future purchases by the recipient. If the cost of the chosen purchase option is higher than the total value of the gift card voucher, the recipient will be asked to pay the remainder amount via visa or master card. The gift card is valid for 1 year from the original purchase date. Gift cards do not include the group class conducted in collaboration with our partner Decathlon. 

Private Lessons and Seminars: 

• The London Longsword Academy Ltd. teaches Historical Martial Arts in private lessons and seminars to individuals and groups (students).
• Students must purchase, book and cancel their private lesson/s via the London Longsword Academy class booking system online.
• Payments can be made over Visa or Master Credit and Debit Cards.
• Private lessons are available to purchase on an hourly basis either as a single class payment or a discounted prepaid package of 10 sessions. 
• A specific quote for one-off and group seminar prices can be obtained by email to enquiry@londonlongsword.com.  
• A booked private lesson can be cancelled by the student. If a student is unable to attend a booked lesson, we request the student to cancel their booking and attendance. The following cancellation policies apply:
  • Cancellation up to 24h prior to lesson: lesson can be booked on to another available appointment.
  • Cancellation in less than 24h prior to lesson: lesson will be marked as redeemed.
• If you’re late for your session, the lesson duration may be adjusted accordingly. If you’re more than 20 minutes late for your session, the lesson may be cancelled and marked as redeemed.
• If for any reason we need to cancel your session we will reschedule with you on another available appointment.
• Emergencies may be taken into account and are valid for both parties and with respective proof provided.
• As we are training outside, we reserve the right to cancel and reschedule the lesson to another suitable date and time, if weather does not allow proper training conditions on that day. This will not apply if you have booked and paid for a training hall of your lesson in advance.
